Social Service Agency Launches Mobile Station to Enrich Seniors’ Social and Healthy Living (Lianhe Zaobao, 12 Nov 2025)
Presbyterian Community Social Services (PCS) launched its Active Ageing Centre on Wheels Programme (AAC on Wheels) on Wednesday, in celebration of its 50th anniversary. Senior Minister of State for Communications and Information, and Health, Mr Tan Kiat How, was the Guest of Honour at the event.
To encourage seniors to stay active and lead fulfilling golden years, the social service agency designed a mobile unit that brings activities and joy right into the heart of local communities, close to where seniors live.
The mobile Active Ageing Centre, housed in a small van, focuses on seniors’ well-being and offers a wide range of activities such as chair Zumba, pickleball, and craft workshops. These are aimed at helping them stay physically healthy, expand their social circles, boost their confidence, and enjoy a more meaningful senior life.
Dr Andrew Lim, Chief Executive Officer of Presbyterian Community Social Services, said: “Many seniors face mobility or health challenges that make it hard for them to visit activity centres regularly. The mobile station helps to bridge this gap by bringing social programmes, preventive health screenings, and wellness planning services right into seniors’ daily environments, such as under HDB blocks, in parks, or at community spaces in the neighbourhood.”
