About DORCAS

Dorcas Home Care Service, affectionately known as “Dorcas”, began with humble origins in 1992, as the first in Singapore to provide meals to homebound and frail elderly residing in the Chinatown precinct.

Many of them the elderly were early immigrants who came to Singapore to earn a living and were now old and unable to earn an income and lacked family support.

With funding support from the Ministry of Health (MOH), Dorcas gradually expanded its services over time to include other home help services. These include Medical Escort and Transport, Personal Hygiene, Laundry, and Housekeeping Services.

Interim Caregiver Service (ICS) is Dorcas’ most recent addition to its service spectrum, which provides care to clients at home for a time-limited period until permanent care arrangements are in place.

The current focus of our clientele group is on Meals-On-Wheels, Medical Escort and Transport, and Interim Caregiver Service.
