PCS Training Academy (PCS TA) was established on 1 July 2015 as a unit under the Presbyterian Community Services, with the purpose of building the capacity and capability of PCS as part of its organizational development plans.
Since its establishment, it has rolled out a wide range of training programmes, public lectures and symposium, serving both internal (organizational) as well as external stakeholders. Some of the programmes are:
- Lee Kim Tah annual lecture series
- Play and Wellness: Play Based Intervention for Children Symposium
- Signposts for Building Better Behaviour Training
- ParentsPlus Early Years Programme (1-6 years old)
- ParentsPlus Children’s Programme (7-11 years old)
- Disability Awareness Workshop
PCS TA has staff who are certified to conduct MBTI, Parents Plus and Signposts. We also have been working alongside long term partners, like Filos Community Services, in delivering some specialized programmes.
PCS TA aims to provide quality life-long learning experiences for professionals and individuals whom we serve. It has gradually expanded its suite of courses to meet the training needs of more stakeholders in the sector, and to maximize their fullest potential.
PCS TA continuously engages in internal and external scanning of training needs of the sector and aims to develop niche training programmes to meet some of these needs, where the training are not available.
In 2020, PCS TA rolled out a new training programme for our Post-18 clients from Grace Orchard School – the Educarer Aide Training (ECAT) Programme. The programme is in its 2nd run this year.
