Celebrating the Everyday Heroes at our Staff Appreciation Night

In September, we hosted a memorable Staff Appreciation Night at Peach Gardens Restaurant. Under the theme “Celebrating Our Everyday Heroes,” the event was a heartfelt tribute to our dedicated staff for their unwavering commitment to community service.

The night kicked off with a burst of energy as attendees arrived in superhero costumes, adding a playful and festive atmosphere. The iSPACE team set the tone with an uplifting performance of “Live Out Love,” (活出愛) their Supergirl-themed dance moves captivating the audience.

Dr Andrew Lim, our Executive Director, delivered an inspiring welcome address, emphasizing the importance of gratitude and resilience. He acknowledged the hard work and dedication of all staff members, highlighting their contributions to PCS’s mission.

Dr Lim shared exciting plans for PCS’s future, including expanding outreach through new satellite sites and collaborating with community resources. He emphasized the organization’s commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of seniors, youths, and special needs children.

A touching email from a service recipient, Mdm Amy Ang, highlighted the exceptional service provided by Ms Annie Tan of Dorcas Home Care Services. Ms Tan was brought on stage to receive a bouquet of flowers in recognition of her outstanding services to her care.

The email from Mdm Amy Ang highlighted the many expressions of affirmation and gratitude that PCS has received. It emphasized the importance and impact of the work done at PCS, rooted in its dependability.

Dr Lim concluded his speech by inviting those who helped organize the appreciation night to stand up for applause.

Chairman Jonathan Kok addressed the attendees, acknowledging the dedication and resilience of PCS staff during a challenging year marked by leadership transitions, from Mr. David Lim’s departure to Mr. Lim Ee Tuo’s interim role and now Dr. Andrew Lim’s leadership.

He expressed gratitude for their patience and perseverance throughout this period of change, reassuring them that the board would work closely with Dr. Andrew Lim and the management team to enhance the organization’s programs amidst shifts in the social service sector.

Mr Kok quoted 2 Thessalonians 1:11 (ESV), emphasizing the importance of God’s empowerment in fulfilling their calling. He reaffirmed the board’s commitment to pray for each staff member, extending sincere thanks on behalf of the board and encouraging everyone to enjoy the evening.

Following the speeches, attendees were treated to a heartwarming video montage titled “Our Staff, Our Everyday Heroes,” created by Mr Alvin Ho from the Senior Services department. The montage showcased the staff’s dedication and hard work in serving both the Lord and the community.

The evening also provided an opportunity for staff from different services to bond and showcase their talents.

Ms Teresa Wong from Martha Active Aging Centre gave a moving solo performance, which was complemented by a surprise duet with Dr Lim.

Ms Vivien Tan from Presbyterian Eldercare @ Potong Pasir impressed the audience with her impressive diabolo skills.
